Ring shopping can be overwhelming. You're hunting for your perfect style, and on top of that, you have to worry about the perfect fit. Not to worry: the team at Robert Alton has a handy men's ring size chart to help you out. Here, we'll tell you how to use it, and answer some common questions on men’s ring sizes while we're at it.
Make sure to follow instructions carefully in order to get the most accurate sizing. There are three ways to use our ring sizer to find your ring size at home. To find someone’s ring size discreetly, use Method 3.
Method 1:
-
Uncheck any "scale to fit page" checkboxes.
-
Print and cut out the ring sizing strip at the top of the page.
-
Keeping the numbers on the outside, wrap the strip around your finger.
-
Pull around your finger until the fit is snug but comfortable-tight, but not too tight to move around. Think of how you'll want your ring to fit.
-
Look for the number next to the "cut here" arrow. This will be your approximate ring size.
Method 2:
-
Uncheck any "scale to fit page" checkboxes and print the men's ring size chart.
-
Wrap a piece of string in exactly one loop around your finger. Make sure it is snug, but not uncomfortably tight.
-
Measure that length of string against a ruler or measuring tape. Compare that measurement against our men’s ring size chart to find your approximate ring size.
Method 3:
-
Uncheck any "scale to fit page" checkboxes and print the men's ring size chart.
-
Take a ring from the person's current jewelry collection.
-
Place the ring over the chart of circles corresponding to various ring sizes. Find the closest match. The ring should align with the outer edges of the circle. This will be the person’s approximate ring size.
-
For extra accuracy, you can always use multiple methods to measure your ring size. If you get the same results consistently, it's a safe bet that you've found your size.
Men’s Ring Size FAQ
Are Men's And Women's Ring Sizes The Same?
Men’s and women’s rings are measured by the same size system. Though men and women have different sizing continuums for clothing and shoes, we’re all in the same boat when it comes to rings. It all comes down to your finger circumference, not your sex. A men’s size 10 ring would fit a woman with a size 10 finger, and vice versa.
However, men tend to have larger fingers than women. For this reason, some men's sizing charts will exclude smaller sizes and go up to larger sizes. Thankfully, our men’s ring size chart includes sizes 4-13.5, so we're almost positive you'll be able to find one that fits your finger.
What Is The Average Men's Ring Size?
The average ring size for men is 9.25, with most men falling somewhere in the 8.75-10.75 range. If your ring size is smaller or larger than average, don't stress–most rings come in a broad spectrum of sizes, including the rings here at Robert Alton.
Keep in mind: this ring sizer is meant to be an approximate measurement. It’s crucial to follow the directions and use the tool correctly to get the best results. If you end up ordering a size that’s a little off, we’ll happily replace it with one that fits.
How Do You Guess A Man’s Ring Size?
The short answer is: don’t guess! The long answer is: a men’s ring is an important purchase, and it’s worth taking a little extra time to investigate to find his correct ring size.
If you want to figure out his ring size without him knowing, we recommend taking a ring he already owns and lining it up with our men’s ring size chart. If he doesn’t have any rings, you’ll have to get a little sneakier. You can use a string to figure out his ring size while he’s asleep (see Method 2, above, for instructions).
The good news is, even if you estimate wrong, we have a 30-day return policy. We’re happy to ship you a new one in a better size.
